Abstract:
This display control device for a vehicle is provided with: a first video acquisition unit which acquires a first video captured by a first camera unit that captures images of a rear area or left and right rear areas; a second video acquisition unit which acquires a second video captured by a second camera unit that captures the surroundings of the vehicle; an overview video generation unit which generates an overview video, in which a virtual own vehicle video is synthesized, at the center of a video based on the second video; a detection unit which performs an object recognition process on the first video and detects an object for warning; a direction calculation unit which calculates a direction of the object for warning, which has been detected by the detection unit, from the own vehicle video in the overview video on the basis of the position in the first video; and a display control unit which displays the first video on a first monitor, and displays, on a second monitor, the direction of the object for warning, which is calculated by the direction calculation unit, by taking, as a reference position, the position of the first camera unit in the own vehicle video, in addition to the overview video generated by the overview image generation unit.
