A display control method, a display control apparatus (500), an augmented reality head-mounted device, and a medium. The display control method comprises: in the running process of a 3D desktop environment, receiving a first enable instruction for enabling a first application (3100); when the first application is a 2D application, in response to the first enable instruction, creating a first canvas and a first virtual screen in the 3D desktop environment (3200); running the first application on the first virtual screen (3300); and acquiring texture information from the first virtual screen, and rendering the texture information acquired from the first virtual screen onto the first canvas (3400).
