Abstract:
A display device according to the present invention includes a backlight unit (24), a liquid crystal display unit (23), and a controller (22). The backlight unit (24) includes a plurality of first-system white light-emitting diodes having a first chromaticity, and a plurality of second-system white light-emitting diodes having a second chromaticity. The liquid crystal display unit (23) constitutes a transmissive liquid crystal display unit arranged so as to face toward the front surface of the backlight unit (24). The controller (22) changes the chromaticity of the illumination light from the backlight unit (24), which illuminates the liquid crystal display unit (23), by changing the duty cycle of the plurality of first-system white light-emitting diodes and the duty cycle of the plurality of second-system white light-emitting diodes in accordance with a prescribed target chromaticity.
