Abstract:
Provided is a display device which is capable of using a plurality of memory circuits provided within a pixel to display a plurality of images superimposed on one another. A plurality of memory circuits are provided in a pixel, and the plurality of memory circuits each store a signal corresponding to an image to be used in superimposition. A signal corresponding to an image to be used in superimposition is added to each of the plurality of memory circuits in the pixel. The signal is added to the signal stored in the memory circuit by capacitive coupling. A display element is capable of displaying an image corresponding to a signal obtained by adding, to the signals stored in the plurality of memory circuits, signals written to the pixel via wiring. Thus, it is possible to reduce the volume of computational processing for displaying images superimposed on one another.
