Abstract:
This display device (1) is provided with a display unit (40) that displays video information in accordance with a video signal. Said display device obtains detection information from a light-measurement unit (2) that detects display characteristics of the aforementioned display unit (40). The display device (1) is also provided with: a signal-conversion unit (30) that converts the aforementioned video signal in accordance with changes in the optical characteristics of the display unit (40) on the basis of correction information; a correction-information generation unit (20); and a control unit (90) that controls the display device so as to correct for the changes in the optical characteristics in accordance with the correction information. When an image serving as a reference is displayed on the display unit (40), the correction-information generation unit generates the aforementioned correction information, which corrects for changes in the optical characteristics, on the basis of the following: prescribed reference values that indicate the display characteristics that should be detected by the light-measurement unit (2); first detection information indicating display characteristics detected by the light-measurement unit (2); and second detection information indicating display characteristics detected by the light-measurement unit (2) after the detection of the first detection information.
