Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a display device which has high brightness or reflectivity, is capable of color display, has high aperture ratio, color reproduction capability, contrast, resolution, and light utilization efficiency, has fewer parts, is easily made more compact and thinner, can be easily manufactured in a stacked manner, has a simple manufacture process and simple wiring. [Solution] This display device comprises an arrangement of multiple display elements which are provided with: multiple moveable units which modulate the area on which display light is incident by changing the tilt angle, which are provided in three or more directions parallel to the display screen, which reflect or absorb display light in different wavelength bands and have a moveable electrode; multiple first fixed electrodes which are at least parallel to the display screen, are connected to wiring arranged in different layers and are provided in three or more directions parallel to the display screen; and a drive means for rotating the moveable units to modulate the tilt angle, wherein the drive means modulates the surface area of the moveable part where the display light is incident, modulating the wavelength band which is reflected or absorbed, thus modulating the display.
