Abstract:
This display device has: a substrate; an insulation layer disposed so as to be in contact with a first surface of the substrate; a display region in which a plurality of pixels that include display elements and transistors disposed on the insulation layer are arrayed; a terminal region which is disposed on the insulation layer so as to be located outside the display region; and wiring installed between the display region and the terminal region, wherein the insulation layer has an opening which is provided in a region between the display region and the terminal region such that the first surface side of the substrate is exposed therefrom, the wiring is in contact with the top surface of the insulation layer and also in contact with the exposed surface of the substrate surface in the opening, and the exposed surface of the substrate has a greater surface roughness as compared with the region of the substrate in contact with the insulation layer.
