Abstract:
The present invention implements a display device which enables a user to rapidly and visually recognize an updated image. A head-mounted display (1) is provided with: a display driving unit (21); and a backlight (24). The display driving unit provides a pause period between a first display driving period in which a display region for the left eye is display-driven and a second display driving period in which a display region for the right eye is display-driven. The backlight does not emit light to the display region for the left eye and the display region for the right eye in a first period during the pause period, but emits light to the display region for the left eye and the display region for the right eye in a second period succeeding to the first period during the pause period.
