Abstract:
A display device is provided with which it is possible to display an image, make a background visible, etc., even when the image represented by a display gradation value and a transparency gradation value included in an image information signal is not within a displayable range. In the present invention it is possible to adjust the display gradation value and the transparency gradation value to prioritize the transparency gradation value, or to adjust the display gradation value and the transparency gradation value to prioritize the display gradation value, even when the image specified by the display gradation value and the transparency gradation value included in the image information signal is not within a displayable range. The display device is thereby capable of displaying the image, making the background appear transparent, and displaying the image and the background overlapped, etc., regardless of whether the image specified by the display gradation value and the transparency gradation value is within the displayable range.
