Abstract:
A display device (100) comprising: a light source (101) that outputs laser light; an illuminating optical system (102) that emits the laser light as illuminating light; a spatial modulation element (103) that diffracts the illuminating light by displaying a diffraction pattern; a diffraction pattern acquisition unit (1105) that obtains a basic diffraction pattern generated on the basis of an image; and a diffraction pattern processing unit (1101) that generates, as the diffraction pattern to be displayed by the spatial modulation element (103), a composite diffraction pattern having the basic diffraction pattern corrected by a correction diffraction pattern, by using the basic diffraction pattern and the correction diffraction pattern for correcting the basic diffraction pattern. The spatial modulation element (103) displays diffracted light, which is diffracted by displaying the composite diffraction pattern, to a user as a virtual image.
