Abstract:
This display device (10) is provided with: a light source (16); a display panel (11) having a back surface (11b) and a display surface (11a); an optical member (18) including a facing section (180a) that faces the back surface (11b), the display panel (11) constituting a plate shape which allows light from the light source (16) to pass through such that light is emitted from the facing section (180a) toward the back surface (11b); and an erect wall section (181) erected on the peripheral edge of the facing section (180a) and surrounding the perimeter of the display panel (11). This invention is able to provide a display device equipped with a structure which allows a narrower frame portion. This display device, for example, is applicable to a television receiver equipped with a tuner.
