Abstract:
Disclosed is a display device comprising: an output unit which forms an image and outputs the image in the forward direction; a lens unit which is arranged in front of the output unit and through which the output image passes and is then transmitted in the forward direction; a guide unit which is long, has at least one pair of total reflection surfaces facing each other, is partly arranged between the output unit and the lens unit, and has a transmission path along which illumination light incident on one side of the guide unit moves towards the other side thereof through at least one instance of total internal reflection; and a diffraction unit which is arranged on the transmission path, has a predetermined pattern, and transmits the illumination light incident thereon to the output unit at a predetermined angle, wherein the diffraction unit selectively refracts or reflects the incident illumination light in accordance with the characteristics of the incident illumination light, and transmits the illumination light in a predetermined direction.
