Abstract:
Provided is a display device that controls image display on a display (20) which has a plurality of pixels constituted by self-luminous elements, said display device comprising: a position calculation unit (12c1) that calculates the position of the sun; a direction inference unit (12c2) that infers a solar radiation direction with respect to the display on the basis of the calculated position of the sun; a database unit (12c4) that stores a data group constituted by a plurality of pieces of solar radiation region data, where the solar radiation region data indicates a distribution of a solar radiation region and a non-solar-radiation region on the display surface (20a) of the display on which image display is performed, the solar radiation region is a region of the display surface which receives solar radiation, and the non-solar-radiation region is the rest of the display surface; a solar radiation inference unit (12c) that infers a solar radiation region on the basis of the inferred solar radiation direction and the data group; a luminance control unit (12e) that, on the basis of the inference result by the solar radiation inference unit, adjusts the luminance in the solar radiation region to be higher than the non-solar-radiation region; and a video output unit (12f) that outputs a video output signal for image display after the luminance adjustment by the luminance control unit.
