Abstract:
This display device for vehicles is provided in the cabin of a vehicle and projects outgoing light from a light source device onto a nontransparent member in the cabin to display an image. This display device for vehicles includes: a light source device; an image forming device that reflects, deflects, and projects the outgoing light toward the cabin and forms an image in a region to be illuminated by the outgoing light on a nontransparent member in the cabin; and a main control device. The image forming device includes: an optical scanning unit which includes a reflective surface for reflecting the outgoing light and a reflective surface drive unit for shuttlingly rotating the reflective surface, and which scans by reflecting and deflecting the outgoing light in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; and a magnification optical system which magnifies the deflection angle of the light reflected and deflected by the reflective surface. The magnification optical system is a wide-angle projection system which includes an optical element that magnifies the deflection angle of the outgoing light from the magnification optical system to at least three times that of the light reflected and deflected by the reflective surface.
