Abstract:
A backlight 11 in a liquid crystal display device 10 includes a plurality of LEDs 13 aligned in the direction that source lines S1–Sn extend. The LEDs 13 are divided into two groups where the LEDs in a group are turned on during the same period. A first group including LED1, LED2, LED7, and LED8 is turned on during a period when a region R6 in a display region is rewritten and a second group including LED3–LED6 is turned on during a period when a region R2 in the display region is rewritten. The boundaries between the groups are located at the periphery of the row of LEDs 13 so that the backlight 11 is turned on and off at the periphery of a display screen, thereby reducing display blur at the center of the display screen due to eye movement. Thus, the present invention provides a display device capable of reducing display blur while addressing problems of scanning and impulse driving.
