Abstract:
There is provided a small-size display device capable of displaying, on a large screen, image data such as a moving picture requiring a large information amount and a large-capacity mail data. In a mobile telephone (1) having a display device, a container section (5) is arranged at one side of a main body (2). This container section (5) has a roll/spread shaft (7), so that a display section (4) made of a high-molecule liquid crystal film or the like is rolled up by the roll/spread shaft (7) and contained in the container section (5). The display section (4) is pulled out through an opening (6) of the container section (5) so as to protrude and spread. A display control section (12) drives/controls the roll/spread shaft (7) so as to control the spread amount of the display section (4) to have a display surface in accordance with the display size of the display information. Moreover, it is possible to perform display by modifying the display size of the display information according to the spread amount of the display section (4).
