Abstract:
Provided is a display device having a rim that is difficult to see. The display device is provided with: a display panel (10) having a display region (RA) and a rim region provided to the outside of the display region; and a transparent cover (20) that is disposed at the observer side of the display panel, and that has a lens section (22) provided to a position corresponding to the boundary between the display region and the rim region of the display panel. The display panel (10) has a flat shape having: four sides (10a) that delineate the top, bottom, left, and right sides; and four corners (10b) that each connect two adjacent sides among the four sides. At least one of the four corners has a chamfer (10c) that includes an edge comprising a curve or a line disposed inside the point of intersection of the lines of extension of the two adjacent sides. The transparent cover (20) has a plane-shaped corner lens section conforming to the chamfer (10c) of the display panel at a position corresponding to the corner (10b) of the display panel.
