Abstract:
A display device (1) comprises: a projecting unit (20) which emits light corresponding to a first video signal comprising three primary color signals; a transmission-type liquid crystal panel (301) which modulates and emits the light emitted from the projecting unit (20), in accordance with a second video signal comprising three primary color signals; a polarizing plate (302) which emits light having a certain polarization direction, from among the light emitted from the transmission-type liquid crystal panel (301); a screen (31); and a display control unit (50) which generates, from an input video signal, the first video signal for driving the projecting unit, and the second video signal for driving the transmission-type liquid crystal panel (301), and generates a synchronization signal for synchronizing the first video signal and the second video signal. The screen (31) is disposed in a location at which light emitted from the projecting unit (20) is focused.
