Abstract:
Provided is a display device for displaying a virtual image in front of a passenger of a vehicle comprising: a luminance adjusting unit that adjusts the luminance of an image to be displayed on the basis of a lightness value of a target region which is a partial region of an image taken by an imaging unit; and an image displaying unit that displays, as a virtual image within a field of view of a passenger of a vehicle, an image, the luminance thereof having been adjusted by the luminance adjusting unit; wherein the target region includes at least a portion of a virtual image displayable region.
