Abstract:
A display device provided with a display panel that includes a plurality of pixels within an effective display area, an illumination unit having an emission surface for emitting light toward the display panel, and a support member for supporting components constituting the illumination unit and arranged in a peripheral area around the effective display area. The support member includes a stretching part facing a portion of the emission surface of the illumination unit, the stretching part being provided extending from the peripheral area to the effective display area, with a first portion facing the effective display area having translucency.
