Provided is a display device comprising: a substrate (102); a first insulating film (160) that is positioned on the substrate (102) with part of the substrate (102) exposed so as to yield an exposed surface on the substrate (102); a second insulating film (230) that is in contact with the exposed surface and with a first side surface (134) of the first insulating film (160); and at least one piece of wiring (220) that is positioned above the second insulating film (230) and that connects the exposed surface, the first insulating film (160), and the second insulating film (230). The display device may additionally comprise a third insulating film (232) that is separated from the second insulating film (230) and in contact with the exposed surface. The first insulating film (160) comprises a second side surface (136) facing the first side surface (134) with the exposed surface therebetween. The third insulating film (232) is connected with the second side surface (136). The wiring (220) is positioned on the third insulating film (232) and can be in contact with the third insulating film (232).
