Abstract:
This display device is provided with a display unit which includes: a flexible substrate; an image displaying layer that is supported by the flexible substrate and that uses an organic light emission phenomenon to display the image; a display surface on which an image is displayed; a back surface positioned on the opposite side of the display panel; and a side surface positioned between the display surface and the back surface and connected respectively to the display surface and the back surface. The display device is also provided with a protective unit which includes a metal layer, which is disposed so as to follow along at least a portion of the side surface, and which covers a region that spans from a portion of the display surface to a portion of the back surface via the side surface.
