Abstract:
A display device (10) comprises: a display element (30) which has a display surface (31); an optical element (40) which has a first surface (41) and a second surface (42) facing the first surface and in which light emitted from the display surface is incident from the first surface, reflected in a direction different from that of the display surface by the second surface, and emitted from the first surface; and a housing (20) which houses the display element and the optical element. The optical element is disposed such that the height direction of the optical element goes along a vertical direction. When, in a sectional view viewing a section including the vertical direction of the optical element, t1/t2 is defined as a thickness ratio where t1 is a first thickness in a reference direction parallel to a normal (N) to the origin of the second surface at the upper end of the optical element, and t2 is a second thickness in the reference direction at the lower end of the optical element (40), the value of the thickness ratio when the width of the display element and the width of optical element become equal is defined as the upper limit of the thickness ratio, and a value that is the same value as the depth of the housing when the thickness ratio is the upper limit and that is smaller than the upper limit is defined as the lower limit of the thickness ratio.
