Abstract:
In order for an observer to perceive a stereoscopic image having a three-dimensional appearance even when the optical element is transparent, in this stereoscopic image display method, which uses a display device provided with a transparent light guide plate, an observer can see the back side of a display device through the optical element, light that will be perceived by the observer as a stereoscopic image (I1) is emitted from the optical element, and the stereoscopic image (I1) is displayed in a stereoscopic image forming plane (P1) that is not parallel with the emission surface (21) of the optical element.
