According to this display mode determination method, for fixed display content and a first movable display content group, a fixed display content display region for displaying a fixed display content group and a movable display content display region for displaying at least a part of the first movable display content group are set in a display region. In the movable display content display region, a plurality of movable display content items included in the first movable display content group are arrayed in a first orientation and are configured to be movable in a second orientation opposite to the first orientation. When the first movable display content group is moved in the second orientation, movable display content that is included in the first movable display content group and that would be outside the movable display content display region in the second orientation is designated as movable display content belonging to a second movable display content group different from the first movable display content group, is added to the second movable display content group, and is removed from the first movable display content group.
