Abstract:
In order to provide a display panel, which has high light use efficiency, low power consumption, and low cost, and which is capable of responding at high speed, the display panel is provided with: a soft material layer (101), which is provided between a transparent substrate (104) and a TFT substrate (105), and which expands/contacts when a voltage is applied thereto; a pixel electrode (102) which has flexibility and integrally expands/contracts with the soft material layer (101); and an upper electrode (103).
