A display panel, a display device, and a method for driving the display device. The on-state of a connected switch transistor (12) is controlled by means of a scan signal line; a bias voltage greater than an avalanche voltage is applied to a photosensitive diode (11) by using a drive signal line when the switch transistor (12) is turned on. When texture recognition is performed, infrared light reflected by a ridge enables the photosensitive diode (11) to generate reverse breakdown and produce a high current; the high current is output to a read signal line by means of a sampling resistor (13); and the current output by the photosensitive diode (11) of a corresponding valley is zero, so that the ridge and valley can be distinguished. Since the photosensitive diode (11) generates reverse breakdown and produces a high current when being exposed to light, there is a big difference on detection signals between the valley and ridge when texture recognition is performed, so that the detecting difficulty of a detection circuit is lowered, and the detecting precision of texture recognition is improved.
