Provided are a display panel and manufacturing method therefor, and a display apparatus, belonging to the technical field of display. the display panel comprises: a substrate (101); a plurality of pixel units and pixel definition layers located on the substrate (101); each pixel unit comprising: an anode (102), an organic functional layer (105), and a cathode (106); the pixel definition layer comprises: a first definition layer (103) and a second definition layer (104), the first definition layer (103) being located on the side of the second definition layer (104) away from the substrate (101); the orthographic projection of the first definition layer (103) on the substrate (101) covers the orthographic projection of the second definition layer (104) on the substrate (101); the area of the opening of the first definition layer (103) is smaller than the area of the opening of the second definition layer (104), forming a groove; at least part of the edge region of the organic functional layer (105) is located within the recess, such that the orthographic projection of at least part of the edge region of the organic functional layer (105) on the substrate (101) falls within the orthographic projection of the first definition layer (103) on the substrate (101); thus at least part of the edge region of the organic functional layer (105) may be out of contact with the cathode (106); during display, at least part of the edge region does not emit light, helping to improve the uniformity of brightness of the display panel.
