Abstract:
A luminance identifying unit 14 identifies the luminance distribution of an external image located in the line of sight of a driver 300, and a luminance changing unit 15 identifies a glare region 301 from the luminance distribution. Further, the luminance changing unit 15 determines a desired changed value of the luminance of a region 302 surrounding the glare region 301. A virtual image generating unit 16A generates a virtual image on the basis of the determined desired value of the luminance of the region 302, and a display processing unit 17 displays the virtual image on a display unit 200. Thus, this display system 1A displays the virtual image to increase the luminance of an area surrounding the glare region 301, making it possible to reduce the glare experience felt by the driver 300 and to enhance visibility. That is, the display system 1A can output a virtual image in accordance with the circumstances.
