Abstract:
Provided is a display having a photodetection element in a pixel, wherein optical sensor signals can be automatically corrected during operation, eliminating offset error for real black level or real white level. A sensor row driver (5) comprises, as operation modes, (a) a sensor driving mode wherein a sensor driving signal of the first pattern is provided and optical sensor signals corresponding to the amount of light received by the optical sensor are output to a signal processing circuit (8), and (b) a correction data acquisition mode wherein a sensor driving signal of the second pattern which is different from the first pattern is provided, and when the optical sensor detects a black level or a white level, the corresponding optical sensor signal level for correction is acquired. The optical sensor signal levels obtained by the two respective modes while the ambient environment is controlled to satisfy a predetermined condition, are stored in a memory. The signal processing circuit (8) corrects an optical sensor signal at the sensor driving mode, using the optical sensor signal level for correction corrected with the offset elimination data.
