Abstract:
Provided is an applicator used when applying a viscous cosmetic material such as lip gloss or a viscous pharmaceutical preparation such as an ointment, with which it is possible for the cosmetic material or pharmaceutical preparation to be reliably scooped up, caused to adhere to the site of application and easily spread, while the applicator is of a hygienic disposable type. An applicator (1) is characterized in that a cotton body (3) which extends from an end portion of a shaft (2) has a flat curved shape of which a maximum width W is 4.5 to 6.5 mm and a thickness T of a maximum thickness portion is 2.0 to 3.6 mm, and in that an imaginary line (4) joining a tip end portion to a rear end central portion of the cotton body is provided with an angle of inclination of 25 to 35 degrees relative to the shaft (2).
