Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a disposable mask that can collect and adsorb radioactive organic iodine that is in the air, and prevent entry of the radioactive organic iodine into the wearer's body. [Solution] A disposable mask (10A) has a filter member (11) that covers the wearer's mouth and nose, and ear loop members (12) for securing the filter member (11) to the wearer's face. The filter member (11) is formed from the following: an iodine collecting sheet made from a plurality of activated carbon fibers; a first foreign matter removing sheet that overlaps the skin-facing surface of the iodine collecting sheet and that has a prescribed surface area; and a second foreign matter removing sheet that overlaps the non skin-facing surface of the iodine collecting sheet and that has a prescribed surface area. The activated carbon fibers are impregnated with an adsorbent for adsorbing radioactive organic iodine.
