Abstract:
A disposable neck duster for barbershops is disclosed. A handle unit with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross-sections in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from a bottom section to a top section within said unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said unit. A dusting/head unit detachably coupled to said vertical bar of said handle unit top section. A pair of magnets configured to hold firmly said head unit metallic base when said vertical bar is being received inside said annular section. A helical spring configured to move said vertical cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said dusting unit metallic base from said magnetic force of said magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit.

Claims:
CLAIMS

What is claimed is:

1. A disposable neck duster for barber shops comprising: a handle unit with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross-sections in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from a bottom section to a top section within said unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said unit; a dusting/head unit detachably coupled to said vertical bar of said handle unit top section, wherein said head unit comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said vertical bar when being coupled in the housing of said handle unit, and a plurality of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said metallic base; a pair of magnets disposed at said top section of unit around said vertical bar, wherein said magnets are configured to hold firmly said head unit metallic base when said vertical bar is being received inside said annular section, wherein said magnets create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting unit within said handle unit by attracting said metallic base of said dusting unit; and a helical spring of specific length coupled around said vertical bar at said bottom section and attached to said push button at other end, wherein said spring is configured to move said vertical cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said dusting unit metallic base from said magnetic force of said magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit.

The disposable neck duster for barber shops as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of bristles are disposable and are configured to be detachable from said metallic base when detached from said handle unit. 3. The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 1, wherein handle unit is made from a plastic or suitable material which includes a conveniently rounded and shaped hand grip.

4. The disposable neck duster for barber shops as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of bristles coupled to said dusting/head unit metallic base are configured to be disposed of after single used.

A disposable neck duster for barbershops comprising: a handle unit with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross-sections in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit comprises a top portion with housing to receive dusting unit base, an intermediate portion and a bottom portion, wherein said intermediate portion is configured to be hold by said user, and said handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from said bottom to top section within said unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said unit; a dusting/head unit detachably coupled to said vertical bar of said handle unit top section, wherein said head unit comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said vertical bar when being coupled with said handle unit, and a plurality of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said metallic base; a pair of magnets disposed at said top section of unit around said vertical bar, wherein said magnets are configured to hold firmly said head unit metallic base when said vertical bar is being received inside said annular section, wherein said magnets create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting unit within said handle unit by attracting said metallic base of said dusting unit; and a helical spring of specific length coupled around said vertical bar at said bottom section and attached to said push button at other end, wherein said spring is configured to move said vertical cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said dusting unit metallic base from said magnetic force of said magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit, wherein said handle unit comprises a plurality of sections in order to separate said pair or magnets at said top section, said push button at a base of said handle unit.

6. The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said handle unit further comprises a gripping section at a middle of said handle unit and a diameter of said gripping section is lower than said top and bottom section of said handle.

The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said handle unit further comprises: a top bore segment extending from said top section toward said bottom section end, wherein said dusting unit metallic base is configured to be detachably attached to said top bore segment, wherein said metallic base is configured to have a proximal end with an outer dimension that fits within said bore segment and abuts against an inner shoulder of said handle unit via said pair of magnets.

The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said dusting unit comprises a plurality of bristles and/or strands which are flexible water-resistant and thereby creating a dusting element, wherein said strands are configured to provide an increased surface area for dusting.

9. The disposable neck duster for barber shops as claimed in claim 5, wherein bristles/strands are configured to be recycled after being detached from said handle unit and said metallic base. 10. The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said vertical bar is configured to hold said head/dusting unit through a magnetic bond formed between said pair of magnets and said metallic base, wherein when said push button is pressed after service, said metallic base gets lifted off from said top bore segment of said handle unit in order to be detached from said handle unit and said vertical bar is configured to retain its initial position via a tension created by said helical spring over said push button in downward direction.

What is claimed is:

1. (Currently Amended) A disposable neck duster for barber shops comprising: a handle unit with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross-sections in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from a bottom section to a top section within said handle unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said handle unit; a dusting/head unit detachably coupled to said cylindrical bar of said top section, wherein said dusting/head unit comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said cylindrical bar when being coupled in a housing of said handle unit, and a plurality of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said annular shaped metallic base; a pair of magnets disposed at said top section of said handle unit around said cylindrical bar, wherein said pair of magnets are configured to hold firmly said annular shaped metallic base when said cylindrical bar is being received inside said annular shaped metallic base, wherein said pair of magnets create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting/head unit within said handle unit by attracting said annular shaped metallic base of said dusting/head unit; and a helical spring of specific length coupled around said cylindrical bar at said bottom section and attached to said push button at other end, wherein said helical spring is configured to move said cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said annular shaped metallic base from said magnetic force of said pair of magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit.

2. (Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barber shops as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of water-resistant bristles are disposable and is configured to be detachable from said annular shaped metallic base when detached from said handle unit.

3. (Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 1, wherein said handle unit is made from a plastic or suitable material which includes a conveniently rounded and shaped hand grip.

(Currently Amended) A disposable neck duster for barbershops comprising: a handle unit with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross-sections in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit comprises a top portion with a housing to receive a base, an intermediate portion and a bottom portion, wherein said intermediate portion is configured to be held by said user, and said handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from said bottom portion to said top portion within said handle unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom portion of said handle unit; a dusting/head unit detachably coupled to said cylindrical bar of said top portion of said handle unit, wherein said dusting/head unit comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said cylindrical bar when being coupled with said handle unit, and a plurality of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said annular shaped metallic base; a pair of magnets disposed at said top portion of said handle unit around said cylindrical bar, wherein said pair of magnets are configured to hold firmly said annular shaped metallic base when said cylindrical bar is being received inside an annular section, wherein said pair of magnets create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting/head unit within said handle unit by attracting said annular shaped metallic base of said dusting/head unit; and a helical spring of specific length coupled around said cylindrical bar at said bottom portion and attached to said push button at the other end, wherein said helical spring is configured to move said cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said annular shaped metallic base from said magnetic force of said pair of magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit, wherein said handle unit comprises a plurality of sections in order to separate said pair of magnets at said top portion, said push button at a base of said handle unit.

(Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said handle unit further comprises a gripping section at the intermediate portion of said handle unit and a diameter of said gripping section is less than said top portion and bottom portion of said handle unit.

(Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said handle unit further comprises: a top bore segment extending from said top portion toward an end of said bottom portion, wherein said annular shaped metallic base is configured to be detachably attached to said top bore segment, wherein said annular shaped metallic base is configured to have a proximal end with an outer dimension that fits within said top bore segment and abuts against an inner shoulder of said handle unit via said pair of magnets.

(Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said dusting/head unit comprises a plurality of bristles which are flexible and thereby creating a dusting element, wherein said bristles are configured to provide an increased surface area for dusting.

9. (Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barber shops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said bristles are configured to be recycled after being detached from said handle unit and said annular shaped metallic base.

(Currently Amended) The disposable neck duster for barbershops as claimed in claim 5, wherein said cylindrical bar is configured to hold said dusting/head unit through a magnetic bond formed between said pair of magnets and said annular shaped metallic base, wherein when said push button is pressed after service, said annular shaped metallic base gets lifted off from said top bore segment of said handle unit in order to be detached from said handle unit and said cylindrical bar is configured to retain its initial position via a tension created by said helical spring over said push button in downward direction.

Disposable Neck Duster For The Barbershop

FIELD OF INVENTION [0001] The present invention generally relates to a field of generally engineering and particularly to relates to hair dusters for use by barbers/hairdresser and stylists. The present invention specifically relates a customer’s neck duster of an inexpensive throw away type which lends itself aptly to single use on an individual customer in a manner proposed by others and now commonly referred to as single service hair dusters. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The barbers and stylists are both professions that cut, style and wash hair, among other things. Neck brushes have been used to clean hair from a salon patron's neck for centuries. These simple brushes are sometimes dipped into skin powder which soothes the patron's neck. More recently, brushes were developed to hold the powder and dispense the powder.

[0003] The hair dusters are commonly used by both barbers and stylists to whisk cut hair from a customer's face, neck and shoulders following a haircut. The term “barber” in this application will be understood to include both barbers and stylists. Permanent hair dusting brushes, also known as “neck dusters,” with soft bristles have been customarily used by barbers. However, modern sanitary regulations for barbers often prohibit the use of such dusting brushes because they are considered unsanitary. [0004] Hand towels are sometimes used to wipe cut hair from a customer's face and neck following a haircut. Such towels must be either disposed or laundered after each use to comply with sanitary regulations. By way of further explanation, it is a matter of common knowledge that in the ordinary or average barbershop, a permanent hair dusting brush with expensive, and often unsanitary soft bristles is customarily used. [0005] US2514496A discloses a renewable brush or the application of liquid materials required to be Worked and spread out over a surface to be coated including an elongated channel shaped holder having a handle extending from the rear thereof substantially midway along the length thereof and a separate brush element mounted in the holder and removable therefrom for renewability, said brush element consisting of a plurality of sheets of paper all of substantially the same length folded in the center and re-bent to provide a pad including a flat portion having a working length in proportion to its thickness providing flexibility in the flat portion affording the pliancy thereof necessary to said working and spreading of said materials and terminating in a free edge of V-shape in cross section and having an enlarged tubular portion at the fold, and fastening means securing said sheets together between the tubular and flat portions, said tubular portion being mounted in the channel of said holder.

[0006] US2595776A which discloses a throwaway neck duster for individual customer use in barber shops and the like and comprising a fiat piece of cardboard marginally invention, what is 3 stamped out to provide an elongated handle and a relatively wide rectangular adapter head at one end of said handle, and a paper-stock duster, said duster being a rectangular blank of soft, water repellent paper, said blank being longitudinally and centrally folded upon itself into duplicate opposed halves and said folded halves being then transversely and centrally folded intermediate their respective ends and upon themselves into quarter components, which are, in turn, wrapped around said adapter head and stapled thereto, corresponding edge portions of said components projecting well beyond an adjacent marginal edge of said adapter head and all being slitted and defining a multiplicity of dusting ribbons.

[0007] US20180154401 A1 discloses a hair duster assembly for a barber includes a multipurpose handle, a disposable duster inserts, and a reusable duster insert. The disposable and reusable duster inserts can be alternately mounted in respective first and second bore segments at opposite ends of the handle to provide both disposable and reusable duster capabilities for the barber. An intermediate bore segment extends between the first and second bore segments to facilitate assembly of the duster inserts to the handle. The first and second bore segments have different diameters to accommodate different dimensions of the disposable and reusable duster inserts. The duster inserts are formed by folding a paper towel or cloth material to have a first portion folded into a fan shape and a second portion folded over the fan shape to provide a covering wrap. A flexible tie member secures a proximal end of the duster insert together in its folded configuration.

[0008] Therefore, there is a need for easy to fit and use neck duster which can be efficiently disposable after hair dusting. Moreover, there is further need for a neck duster that can be economical as well as functions in compliance with sanitary regulations that prevent can prevent spread of microbes and germs from one person to other.

[0009] The disposable neck duster will end the transmitting of bacteria, viruses and germs from patron to patron. In the circumstances, it is an objective here to bring into use a neck duster in the category under advisement, in which, due to its quality and construction, manufacturers and users will find their needs and requirements fully met, contained and advantageously available.

[0010] Other objects and advantages may become apparent from the following description and accompanying drawings. None of the previous inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed. Hence, the inventor of the present invention proposes to resolve and surmount existent technical difficulties to eliminate the shortcomings of above prior arts. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0011] The present invention relates to disposable neck duster for barbershops, cosmeticians and the like and includes a handle unit and a dusting unit. In an embodiment of the present invention a disposable neck duster for barbershops is disclosed. The duster comprising a handle unit with a cylindrical shape of variable diameter in order to be held firmly by a user, wherein said handle unit comprises a top portion, an intermediate portion and a bottom portion, wherein said intermediate portion is configured to be hold by said user which encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from said bottom to top section within said handle unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said handle unit. The dusting/head unit is detachably coupled to said vertical bar of said handle unit top section, wherein said head unit comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said vertical bar when being coupled with said handle unit, and a grouping of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said metallic base; a pair of magnets disposed at said top section of unit around said vertical bar, wherein said magnets are configured to hold firmly said head unit metallic base when said vertical bar is being received inside said annular section, wherein said magnets create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting unit within said handle unit by attracting said metallic base of said dusting unit; and a helical spring of specific length coupled around said vertical bar at said bottom section and attached to said push button at other end, wherein said spring is configured to move said vertical cylindrical bar upwards when said push button is pressed in order to release/detach said dusting unit metallic base from said magnetic force of said magnets and thereby detach it from said handle unit, wherein said handle unit comprises a plurality of sections in order to separate said pair or magnets at said top section, said push button at a base of said handle unit.

[0026] The present invention discloses a disposable neck duster for the barbershop which includes a handle having one end with an outer surface for gripping in a user's hand, duster assembly extending from one end. The duster insert is a flexible biodegradable bristle material with fanned and increased surface area for dusting.

[0027] Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of a neck duster displaying a dusting unit and a handle unit. The disposable neck duster (100) for barber shops mainly includes following components.

[0028] A handle unit (102, 104, 106) with a cylindrical shape of multiple cross sections/variable diameter in order to be held firmly by a user. The handle unit comprises a top portion (102), an intermediate portion (104) and a bottom portion (106), wherein said intermediate portion (104) is configured to be hold by said user. The handle unit encloses a cylindrical bar disposed vertically from said bottom (106) to top section (102) within said unit and is coupled with a push button at said bottom section of said unit. In an embodiment, the top portion of the handle unit comprises a housing which hold the base of the disposable dusting unit through an opening.

[0029] A dusting/head unit (108) detachably coupled to a housing of said top section of said handle unit top section (102), wherein said head unit (108) comprises an annular shaped metallic base which is configured to receive said vertical bar when being coupled with said handle unit, and a plurality of water-resistant bristles, formed together in a disposable slab and, in turn, joined together with said metallic base. In one of the embodiments the dusting unit may be of different shape and size instead of round cross section and accordingly the handle unit may be changed to accommodate the dusting unit with similar features so as to prepare a disposable neck duster of variable shape and size.

[0030] Figure 2 illustrates an isometric view of said neck duster displaying a dusting unit and a handle unit along with a push button(206) at the bottom. The neck duster is provided with a push button (206) at the bottom of the handle unit (204). This push button (206) is provided to disengage or detach the dusting unit or the brushing unit (202) from the handle (204), by pressing the push button (206) inwards.

[0031] Figure 3 illustrates a detached view of said neck duster displaying a dusting unit and a handle unit. As displayed in figure, the dusting unit is being detached from the handle unit (308). The dusting unit includes a round metallic base (306) which is annular at the center, over this base (306), a plurality of bristles or strands (302) made up of soft fibers which can be easily disposed of after user over one customer at a barber shop or beauty parlor etc. The bristles (302) are assembled at the base (304) which is made up of a biodegradable material. This base (304) is coupled to the housing of the top portion of the handle unit wherein the metallic base (306) received the extruded portion of the vertical bar. The annular shape of the metallic base (306) is coupled to the extruded bar (310) within the housing/opening of the handle unit at the top.

[0032] Figure 4a-b illustrate a disassembled view of said neck duster displaying metallic base of dusting unit which is configured to be coupled with a top opening of said handle unit. The figures display, the handle unit (406) top view and the dusting unit bottom view which are supposed to be connected to each other. The handle unit displays a central bar (408) which is vertical and is coupled with the annular section (404) of the metallic base (402) of the dusting unit. Two magnets (410) are disposed on the either side of the central vertical bar (408), which attract the metallic base (402) of the dusting unit to hold firmly in the housing of the handle unit.

[0033] Figure 5 illustrates a sectional view of said handle view and displaying an elongated bar with a pair of magnets and a spring. A detailed view of the handle unit can be understood here.

[0034] The handle unit firstly, includes a cylindrical shaped housing with different cross sections such as, (502) at top, (504) at intermediate and (516) at the bottom. The intermediate (504) has lower diameter than the top (502) and bottom (516) cross section, so that the whole duster can be easily held against the hand of a barber. The handle includes a push button (514) at the bottom and a housing with opening (506) at the top (502). The push button (514) is connected with a vertical bar (510) which is normal to the horizontal plane of the button (514).

[0035] A pair of magnets (508) are disposed at said top section (502) of unit around said vertical bar (510), wherein said magnets (508) are configured to hold firmly said head unit metallic base as mentioned in figure 4a-b in the housing of the top section, when said vertical bar (510) is being received inside said annular section. The magnets (508) create a magnetic force in order to retain said dusting unit within said handle unit by attracting said metallic base of said dusting unit.

[0036] A helical spring (512) of specific length is coupled around said vertical bar (510) at said bottom section (516) and attached to said push button (514) at another end. The spring (512) is configured to move said vertical cylindrical bar (510) upwards when said push button (514) is pressed in order to release/detach said dusting unit metallic base from said magnetic force of said magnets (508) and thereby detach it from said handle unit. The handle unit comprises a plurality of sections in order to separate said pair or magnets at said top section, said push button at a base of said handle unit.
