Abstract:
An easily producible disposable pants-type wearing article whose leg openings
open automatically. The disposable pants-type wearing article (1) is formed
by folding a sheet-like member (13) upward in the vertical direction Y, along
a laterally extending folding line, to form double layers of the sheet-like member
(13) and joining side edges (16a, 17a, 16b, 17b) of the member (13). The leg openings
(36a, 36b) of the wearing article (1) are formed by front cut sections (46a, 46b)
and back cut sections (47a, 47b) formed in the sheet-like member (13). The cut
sections start at those portions in the side edges (16a, 17a, 16b, 17b) that are
away upward by predetermined distances from the folding line. Upper elastic
members (26, 27) are installed in a stretched state above the front cut sections
(46a, 46b) and the back cut sections (47a, 47b), and lower elastic members (28,
29) are installed in a stretched state below the front cut sections (46a, 46b)
and the back cut sections (47a, 47b). When the elastic members (26, 27, 28, 29)
are contracted, the lateral dimension of the portions where the upper elastic
members (26, 27) are installed is greater than the lateral dimension of the portions
where the lower elastic members (28, 29) are installed.
