Title:
DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/106754
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This utility model patent refers to the "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE" and it introduces stabilizers (2), noise reducers (7) fixed by spring (8) and noise reducers (7) fixed by bolts (11). The stabilizer (2) reduces significantly the relative displacement of the profile longitudinal and horizontal extremities. The advantage is the proximity of the shearing center to the geometric center of the profile with any quantity of sides.

1. DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED

PROFILE" is the type traditionally made of carbon iron, with semi-opened profile (1), screws (3), washers (4), nuts (5), locking nuts (6), nuts (12) and washer (13) characterized by its functional technique configuration made up of 6 basic pieces (2), (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11): stabilizers (2), noise reducer (7), staple (8), outer sheet (9), inner sheet (10) and screw (11) for preventing the nesting of animals and insects in the profile and for reducing the profile noise submitted to the wind.

Description:

"DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE"

The utility model patent refers to the "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE" and it introduces stabilizers, noise reducers fixed by spring and noise reducers fixed by bolts. The stabilizer reduces substantially the relative displacement of the profile longitudinal extremities.

The technique presents towers with semi-opened profile that, by virtue of their slots, are subject to located tensions that reduce their load capacity, causing the need for a larger quantity of material. These profiles also allow for the nesting of animals and insects and even cause noises when submitted to high speed winds.

To better understand the present utility model patent, a detailed description of the patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE" is given below and reference to the enclosed drawings is made:

- Picture 1 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the upper view of a stabilizer (2) in a semi-opened profile (1).

- Picture 2 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the front view of a noise reducer (7). - Picture 3 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS

INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the view of noise reducer profile (7).

- Picture 4 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the upper view of a semi-opened profile (1) with noise reducer (7) coupled by springs (8).

- Picture 5 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the upper view of a semi-opened profile (1) with noise reducer (7) coupled by bolts (11).

- Picture 6 shows, from the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED PROFILE", the front view of a semi-opened profile section (1) with noise reducer (7) coupled by bolts (11).

According to the pictures from 01 to 06 the present utility model patent called "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED

PROFILE", made of carbon iron, and having its functional technical composition made up of 13 basic pieces, including: semi-opened profile (1), stabilizers (2), screws (3), washers (4), nuts (5), locking nuts (6), noise reducer (7), staple (8), outer sheet (9), inner sheet (10), screw (11), nuts (12) and washer (13). According to picture 1 the introduction of stabilizers (2) in the fixation points of the pieces in the semi-opened profile (1) reduces significantly the relative displacement of the profile longitudinal extremities, keeping the shearing center features close to the geometric center of the part. Since the horizontal tensions are transferred to the semi-opened profile (1) through the pieces fixed on it, there is a tendency for the profile to open. The solution would be to increase the material thickness. This solution was considered impracticable because of its cost since besides reinforcing the point for tension application, it also reinforces all the length of the profile.

With the introduction of the stabilizer (2) the tension was applied only to the point of interest reducing significantly the weight and consequently the cost of the frame. The picture 1 shows this solution.

The assembly of the stabilizers (2) is done by drilling in the semi-opened profile by screws. This drilling is done before the section receives the anticorrosive treatment to maintain the corrosion resistance of the component. The utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH

SEMI-OPENED PROFILE" also shows as an improvement, the introduction of removable lids in the slots of the semi-opened profile (1). These lids were called noise reducers (7) and are seen in the pictures from 02 to 06.

The noise reducers (7) provide the following advantages: reduction of the resistance to the wind of the semi-opened profile, decreasing even more the tension that the tower frame itself offers; significant reduction of the noise generated by the frame when submitted to the wind; prevention against the nesting of animals and insects in the profile; allowance for ease assembly and removal with the help of proper tools, providing an easy inspection concerning the quality of galvanization which will protect against corrosion.

Two (7) fixation systems of reducers have been developed. The first, against damages, is fixed by special screws (11) and is shown in picture 5. The second more economic, is fixed by springs and is shown in picture 4.

In the case the reducers (7) are assembled with screws (11) in the utility model patent "DISPOSITIONS INTRODUCED IN TOWER WITH SEMI-OPENED

PROFILE", three sets each one made up of an outer sheet (9), an inner sheet

(10), a screw (11), three nuts (12) and a washer (13) are coupled according to pictures 5 and 6, in the noise reducer (7).

Therefore, the inner sheet (10) has enough breadth to pass through the slot of the semi-opened profile. This sheet is fastened to the screw (11) by a nut (12).

With a screwdriver in the screw (11) and a spanner in the second nut (12), is possible to rotate the inner sheet (10), place it and fix it to the profile (1), fastening the second nut (12). The -last nut (12) is only a locking nut.

In the case of assembling with spring (8), seen in picture 4, it is inserted in the hole (7.1), into the longer rip (7.1.1), and rotated 90° in such way that it lodges itself into the smaller rip (7.1.2).
