Abstract:
This distance image capturing device (1) comprises a light source unit (2) for emitting light pulses, a light reception unit (3) comprising a distance image sensor having a plurality of pixels arranged in a two-dimensional matrix, and a distance image processing unit (4) for determining the distance to a subject in a space being photographed on the basis of the amount of charge distributed in a predetermined fixed number of charge distributions. The distance image processing unit acquires, as a single set, at least two charge amounts accumulated by a charge accumulation unit at different numbers of charge distributions (H, L) and, on the basis of the result of comparing a first charge amount (QH2, QH3) that is the charge amount accumulated at the greater number of charge distributions (H) and a predetermined threshold (Vth), selects, as the charge amount to use to determine the distance, the first charge amount (QH2, QH3) or a second charge amount (QL2, QL3) that is the acquired charge amount in the set that was accumulated at the lower number of charge distributions (L).
