Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a photoelectric conversion element which generates charges according to incident light; a light receiving unit having a plurality of pixel circuits having N (N ≧ 3) charge storage units for storing charges in a frame period, and a pixel drive circuit which performs an on/off process of a transfer transistor for transferring charges to the charge storage unit at a storage timing synchronized with a light pulse and distributes and stores the charges; a light source unit which emits a light pulse; a distance image processing unit which obtains a distance to a subject, on the basis of the amount of accumulated charge in the charge storage unit; and a measurement control unit which accumulates charges in any of the measurement zones set to the zone threshold set corresponding to the distance, at an integration number set in the measurement zone to which the measurement distance belongs, and emits the light pulse by increasing the pulse period of the light pulse as the integration number increases.
