Abstract:
The present invention provides a distance measurement device that makes it possible to determine, in an environment with fog, or the like, whether a reflection is from fog, or the like, or from an actual object. This distance measurement device comprises: a light emitting element 12 for transmitting a signal; a light receiving element 15 for receiving a signal that has been transmitted from the light emitting element 12 and reflected by an object and outputting a reception signal corresponding to the reception intensity of the received signal; a comparator 19 for outputting, on the basis of the reception signal, a first signal greater than or equal to a first threshold for the signal intensity and a second signal greater than or equal to a second threshold greater than the first threshold; and a signal processing unit 10 for determining whether the reception signal is valid or invalid on the basis of the relationship between a first time width from when the reception signal became greater than or equal to the first threshold of the first signal until the reception signal fell below the first threshold and a second time width from when the reception signal became greater than or equal to the second threshold of the second signal until the reception signal fell below the second threshold.
