Title:
DISTANCE MEASUREMENT DEVICE, DISTANCE MEASUREMENT METHOD, AND DISTANCE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/159289
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a distance measurement device, distance measurement method, and distance measurement system that make it possible to increase the overall operation speed of a TOF sensor by increasing the speed of operation of an A/D converter. In a distance measurement device in one aspect of the present invention, a light reception unit has a plurality of A/D conversion units for subjecting pixel signals read from pixels to A/D conversion. The A/D conversion units switch between first A/D conversion having a precision of a first number of bits and second A/D conversion having a precision of a second number of bits larger than the first number of bits. A calculation unit measures the distance to the object using the results of the first or second A/D conversion by the A/D conversion units. The present invention can be applied to, for example, a vehicle-mounted TOF sensor.
