Abstract:
In the present invention, a first group of photoelectric conversion regions (C1 ... Cn) irradiated by subject light from a first group of single-eye optical systems (A1 ... An) are each divided into a plurality of image formation areas, indexes are calculated for each brightness value corresponding to the subject light irradiated onto the image formation areas, image formation areas for which the difference between a maximum and minimum value determined through the comparison of the corresponding image formation areas of the photoelectric conversion regions is larger than a prescribed value are recognized as designated image formation areas, pixel values are summed, the photoelectric conversion region (Ck) having the smallest sum is selected, and the distance to a subject is measured on the basis of the image signal output by the selected photoelectric conversion region (Ck) of the first group and the image signal output by the photoelectric conversion region (Dk) irradiated with subject light having passed through a polarization filter (Fk) of a second group that has the same polarization phase angle as that of the polarization filter (Ek) used for image formation on photoelectric conversion region (Ck). Even for reflection surfaces having different angles, it is possible to determine difference values for each reflection surface, and extreme avoidance of the influence of specular reflection is possible.
