Abstract:
A distance measurement system (10) to be used in a background light environment comprises a light emission unit (101) that emits pulsed light (AA), a light reception unit (102) that receives light (BB) reflected by an object (60), a control unit (103) that controls the operations of the light emission unit (101) and the light reception unit (102), and a distance calculation unit (105) that calculates a distance to the object (60). The control unit (103) changes a product of the light intensity, pulse width, and pulse count of the pulsed light (AA) according to a power function for which the distance to be measured is used as a variable, the exponent of the power function being set to be larger than 3 and equal to or smaller than 4.
