Abstract:
A distributed database system that is capable of storing a large amount of data in association with a single key, can reduce the number of times communication is performed by increasing the chance that all of the data required for a process exists in a single database node, and is also suited to handling highly confidential data. In said distributed database system (1), a pair consisting of key information and data is sent from a client node (3) to a database node (2) identified on the basis of the key information and is stored in said database node. Also, a pair consisting of the key information and program information is sent to a database node (2) identified on the basis of the key information. In the database node (2), a program, in accordance with the program information, is executed on the data stored paired with the key information, and information on the result of the process performed on the data in the database node (2) is sent to the client node (3).
