Abstract:
Provided is a distributed storage system that receives a write request from a client, said system comprising a plurality of computers that receive power supply from a plurality of power source units. A first computer from among the plurality of computers that has received a write request from a client: caches update data constituting at least a portion of data associated with the write request; from among said computers, selects n second computers (where n is a natural number) constituted by n computers receiving power supply from power source units differing from the power source unit for the first computer, said n second computers serving as destinations to which the update data is to be transferred; and transfers the update data to each of the selected n second computers. At least one of the n second computers returns a result to the first computer when the update data from the first computer has been cached.
