A document display device capable of definitely displaying a message that the document display device is performing a script operation while ensuring easy viewing of a document screen. A content (1b) of an input document (1) is displayed in a first display form (5) by a document displaying means (2). Next, a processing according to processing description (1a) is performed by a processing means (3). After the processing, the display form of the content (1b) of the document (1) is changed to a second display form (6) by a display mode changing means (4).
