Abstract:
In order to provide a document feeder 5 that can suitably feed a folded document Sf while maintaining the loading properties for the document S, the document feeder 5 is provided with: a document loading tray 11 on which the document S is loaded; a feeding mechanism 55 that feeds the document S loaded onto the document loading tray 11 to the downstream side in the feed direction of the document S; and a holding arm 20 that faces the document S loaded onto the document loading tray 11 by way of moving to a position facing a loading face 12 on the document loading tray 11 for the document S when supplying the document S with the feeding mechanism 55 and that retracts from the position facing the loading face 12 when not supplying the document S with the feeding mechanism 55.
