Abstract:
The invention provides: a hopper unit (2) having a loading unit (22) on which vertically-oriented documents are loaded, a push plate (23) that pushes the documents loaded onto loading unit (22), a push plate driving means that drives the push plate (23), and a lifting and lowering means that lifts and lowers the loading unit (22) and the push plate (23); a hopper unit driving means (3) that moves the hopper unit (2) between a feed position where documents are fed into the hopper unit (2) and a prescribed loading position on a document feeder (6) where documents are loaded; and a controller that controls the hopper unit driving means, the lifting and lowering means and the push plate driving means.
