Abstract:
A document reading device 60 has: a document table 201 on which a document is placed; a reading unit 202 for reading the document placed on the document table while moving the document in a prescribed direction inside a housing 314; a sensor 300 provided inside the housing, the sensor detecting whether or not the document is located at a prescribed position on the document table in order to identify the size of the document; a holding member 301 for holding the sensor and a cable 400 from the sensor; and a cover 206 for covering a prescribed space SP on the rear side of the document table. The document table is attached to the housing, and the holding member is movable inside the housing. A grip part 302 is provided to one end of the holding member for use by an operator when moving the holding member, the one end passing through an opening 314c of a wall 314a on the rear side of the housing and extending to the prescribed space. The prescribed space is located on the rear side of the wall and enables the operator to grasp the grip part when the cover is removed. The cable extends to the prescribed space from the one end of the holding member.
