Abstract:
A dog clutch comprising a first dog group, which protrudes from a side surface of a first gear, and a second dog group, which protrudes from a side surface of a second gear, wherein the first dog group (21) comprises stepped dogs (23) arranged in the circumferential direction of the first gear (11), each stepped dog (23) being formed by disposing in the radial direction of the first gear (11): a high dog (23a) having a long protrusion length from the side surface of the first gear (11); and a low dog (23b) having a short protrusion length from the side surface of the first gear (11). Furthermore, the second dog group (22) has the same protrusion length from the side surface of the second gear (12) and comprises, alternately arranged in the circumferential direction of the second gear (12): large dogs (24) which engage with at least the high dogs (23a) when the first and second gears (11, 12) approach one another; and small dogs (25) which engage only with the low dogs (23b) in a manner so as to sandwich the stepped dogs (23) by cooperation with the large dogs (24). Thus, the engagement of the first and second dog groups starts smoothly, and the end surfaces of the dogs in the first and second dog groups can be machined all at once by lathe machining.
