Abstract:
A conventional Doherty amplifier has had a problem of poor linearity since transistors used for a carrier amplifier and a peak amplifier are driven at different operation classes. A Doherty amplifier according to the present disclosure is characterized by comprising: a distributor that distributes an inputted high-frequency signal into two branches; a carrier amplifier that has a first transistor and amplifies one of the distributed high-frequency signals; a peak amplifier that has a second transistor and amplifies the other one of the distributed high-frequency signals; and a synthesizer that synthesizes an output signal of the carrier amplifier and an output signal of the peak amplifier. The Doherty amplifier is characterized in that a gain of the second transistor is higher than the gain of the first transistor.
