Description:
Domestic hot water supply connection point

The subject of the invention is a domestic hot water supply connection point in a hot water circulation system.

The central hot water preparation system creates problems, especially in larger houses. If the hot water is not used for a long time, the part of the water, which is in the pipes between circulation loop and the faucet, cools down and after opening of the faucet it will have to flow out, before the hot water takes its place. The longer the distance between the circulation loop and the faucet, the bigger the water losses. According to the building regulations, if the faucet is more than 2 m away from the hot- water riser, constant water flow in the installation should be provided on pipe sections with volume above 3 dm 3 . To avoid water losses, the circulation loop should be placed as close as possible to the domestic hot water faucet. Due to the current domestic water installation practice, the circulation loop is placed farther than that, since it is embedded.

In known domestic hot water installations the circulation loop is located in vertical and horizontal construction compartments of the building, and from the loop the connection point of hot water for the faucet is connected, with one hot water outlet provided with an internal thread, usually with a valve screwed in.

According to the present invention, there are two outlets in the hot water supply connection that are end points of the hot water circulation branch, where between said outlets and the hot water faucet there is a tee fitting installed, said tee fitting comprising a tee and three flexible tubes, optionally insulated, ended with stud couplings. The tee fitting is the external part of a hot water circulation loop.

The invention allows for a construction of economical hot water installation as a result of shortening of the distance between the faucet and hot water circulation installation through the use of the tee fitting according to the invention. The invention therefore reduces the consumption of water and energy required to heat it. It can be used as a flexible connection for a variety of devices that require simplified installation methods. Additionally, it creates the possibility to make post- installation settings in such installations. It improves the comfort of use and operation of domestic hot water systems.

The subject of the invention is shown in the example embodiment in the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows details of the installation near the hot and cold water faucet, and Fig. 2 shows the tee fitting according to the invention.

In the hot and cold water supply point there are three water system outlets 1, 2 and 3 with valves. First outlet 1 and second outlet 2 are connected to the circulatory installation 4 connected to the hot water heating device 5. Third outlet 3 is connected to the cold water system 6. Between the faucet 7 and first outlet 1 and second outlet 2, but externally with respect to those outlets 1 and 2 a tee fitting 8 is connected. The tee fitting 8 has a rigid tee 9 and three flexible pipes 10, 11 and 12 ended with stud couplings 13, 14 and 15. Outlet 3 is connected externally via an insulated flexible pipe 16 with faucet 7.
